Conceptual Design

Maintain some of formalistic aspects of the old building on the ground floor and thus contributing to the creation of a new palipsetic architectural solution that will be able both to reflect the complexity of the site as well as the complexity of its programme. Therefore, we emphasize in maintaining some symbolic ruins of the structure, both in terms of its height and its architectural appearance.

02-

Historic Location

The building will be developed on the ruins of an existing building which is located in a very historic road of Pafos. Therefore, our main idea symbolizes an intention to create a building that will be able to understand and reflect the fact that it stands on a very historic road where the traces of history are still present.

Visibility graph analysis

The reception is strategically placed so as to controlled visitors’ movement on the ground floor as it is shown on the visibility graph analysis which highlights that the more orange-red areas, namely the more visually integrated areas area adjacent to the office reception.

Plan the open-plan. The spatial configuiration of this floor tries to create a gradual placement of the different work types, ranging from more private and focused work zones to more public and relaxed work zones. This is also proven by the visibility graph analysis of this floor which shows precisely that the focused work zones are visually more segregated (blue-ish colours).
