Conceptual Design
During the Frankish rule, Kallepeia village was divided into Upper and Lower parts. The upper Kallepia was a medieval fief known as Calopes, while the lower part was one of the estates of the Royal families of Cyprus. Therefore, drawing inspiration from the village’s history and the existing structures on the plot, which feature both upper and lower units, this renovation project has been named “Calope Suites.” In this sense, the design symbolizes both conceptually and geometrically the idea of Upper and Lower Calope that the village once represented.

Developement & Execution
As both buildings in this project are more than 100 years old, the renovation has proven to be quite challenging. Many aspects of the project were reformed on-site or adapted to the actual condition of the existing structures.
